Vote In Pepsi Challenge to Create a GLBT Center in College Station, TX

One of our blog readers Rachel Boenigk a Texas A&M University senior wants to build a GLBT Center in College Station, Texas. The closest resource to this central Texas town lies more than 100 miles away!

Rachel has applied for the Pepsi Refresh Project's - Good Idea, where the soft drink company will give millions away to those concepts who get the most votes. Her idea is currently ranked number 27th on the 50,000 dollar challenge.

Goals:

-Find a home for the center
-Hire a program director
-Raise a minimum of $25,000 more to fund the center
-Furnish the center
-Provide a safe place and a meeting place for the GLBT community

Voting ends March 31st, please help Rachel and the entire GLBT community of central Texas make this dream a reality by casting your vote.

i don't think a GLBT center is a good idea in CS and would become a target for vandalism. as a gay man who grew up in Tx, this is not the town to do this. please, no!

Texas is in need of a center for LGBT community. It will deffinetly do alot of good in the long run. As a state that struggles alot with diversity it will be a place where many would find comfort and support.
